LANE COUNTY, Ore. – A fugitive from Shutter Creek Correctional Institution was arrested in Lane County Monday morning, the Lane County Sheriff's Office says.
At about 10 a.m., a deputy tried to stop an unlicensed black Honda on Jasper Road near Mahogany Lane. The driver reportedly drove off through a nearby orchard.
Deputies found the vehicle moments later, but no one was inside. Oregon State Police troopers and Springfield police responded to the area to aid in the search, and a police dog unit was used.
Bradley Rofinot, 41, and a woman were reportedly found nearby. Rofinot had an outstanding fugitive warrant out of Shutter Creek. He was taken to the Lane County Jail and faces new charges related to eluding authorities.
