Small plane crashes north of Eugene

A small airplane has crashed north of Eugene near Meadowview Road and Green Hill Road.

EUGENE, Ore. – A small airplane crashed into a field Thursday morning about two miles north of the Eugene airport.

The crash happened around 10:30 near Meadowview Road and Green Hill Road.

Fire officials say a male pilot was the sole occupant, and he suffered life-threatening injuries. 

According to the FAA, the aircraft was a single-engine Stoddard-Hamilton Glasair III, which is a homebuilt aircraft manufactured in Washington.
