Softball Roundup: OSU victorious, Ducks fall on senior day

OSU hopes for the postseason while Oregon loses in season finale.

Eugene, OR -- Oregon softball dropped its season finale against Arizona State in six innings, 12-4. 

The Sun Devils scored six runs in the third inning on home runs from Maddie and Kiara Hackbarth.

Those were two of four ASU home runs on the day. 

Jordan Dail suffered the loss going 2.2 innings allowing five earned runs and six hits.

With the loss Oregon finishes the season to 22-30 and 5-19 in Pac-12 play.

Oregon State had better luck in their season finale defeating Utah, 4-2. 

With the bases loaded and the Beavers trailing 2-1 in the sixth Frankie Hammoude cleared the bases before getting tagged out at third. 

Mariah Mazon shut the door down in the seventh inning pitching her 20th complete game of the season.

The Beavers end the regular season at 26-19 and 8-14 in conference play.

The team will wait to see if they make the NCAA Tournament. The selection show is set for 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 12.
