COTTAGE GROVE, Ore.-- The South Lane County Fire board of directors accepted the resignation of board member Jennifer Radcliffe.
Radcliffe submitted her resignation after a failed vote to punish Chief John Wooten over Facebook posts allegedly claiming that rioters should be shot.
One post on Wooten's profile read, "So I made the comment we should shoot the rioters and someone asked me how I could possibly do that. I replied it depended on distance, wind, temp, humidity and a few other variables but once I had the calculations done it would be a matter of breathing control and trigger squeeze."
Wooten later claimed that his Facebook page was hacked. He never responded to KEZI 9's News requests for comment.

The board did not discuss how to fill Radcliffe's vacant seat. Wooten is now required to contact the county elections board before moving forward.
