COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. – South Lane County Fire & Rescue is holding a Fire Board meeting Wednesday night to discuss the possible discipline of a public officer.
The announcement doesn't specify who will be discussed. But the meeting comes after controversial posts surfaced on the personal Facebook account of South Lane Fire Chief John Wooten. In one post, he discusses shooting rioters.

KEZI 9 News reached out to Wooten for comment, but he hasn't returned our calls. After KEZI's original story Tuesday, several local leaders have reacted to the situation, including Heather Buch, chair of the Lane County Board of Commissioners.
Cottage Grove Mayor Jeffrey Gowing also weighed in.
"We are saddened after reading the report of the alleged statements made by the fire chief. The city of Cottage Grove will not take a position on the situation until all the facts are known," Gowing said. "The South Lane Fire District Board of Directors are responsible for investigating the situation, determining the facts and taking any action if necessary."
