SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Springfield High School's remodeled Miller Mart had it's grand opening Thursday.

Seven Career Technical Education students and local companies such as Pivot Architecture, Chambers Construction and more worked on the almost year-long project.

"It took a long time to design what we finally did," student Corein Riggs said. "But it looks amazing now. It's a complete renovation of everything in there, and I think the students here are going to like it.

The sudent-run store gives students the opportunity to learn skills to prepare them for life after graduating.

"It's amazing," teacher Kim Thompson said. "One of the girls is going to put this on her resume to the University or Oregon architecture school. It's amazing. It's going to change their future."
