SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A man was arrested Sunday after police responded to a report of a man beating a dog on Dotie Drive.
When police arrived, they said they found the dog and her young puppies.
Police said video showed Brian Domin, 27, beating and forcefully slamming a small female dog named Baby Girl. In the video, police said the small dog was heard yelping before going quiet. The video then reportedly shows Domin sounding off at a neighbor.
Witnesses told police they believed Baby Girl was unresponsive.
Springfield police said an officer transported the wounded dog to a veterinary clinic for treatment. Since she recovered, the police department now has custody of Baby Girl.
Domin is being charged with animal abuse and disorderly conduct.
Springfield Police animal control officer Brian Austin will be taking on the investigation and is expected to look into the puppies as well.
