Springfield mayor highlights projects to be finished this year

Mayor Lundberg highlighted unfinished projects as well as the city's economic development in the State of the City Address.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Mayor Christine Lundberg praised Springfield's accomplishments in 2017 during the State of the City Address January 4th.
 
Looking to the future, Lundberg said the city will focus on completing unfinished projects during 2018. Some of those projects being the High-Speed Fiber project and the proposed new city library. 

The High-Speed Fiber project aims to bring high-speed fiber to businesses and communities in the city. It will also help Springfield schools with their Career Technical Education programs.  
 
Mayor Lundberg expressed excitement over the proposal of a new library and it's potential ability to revitalize the downtown area. She said that attendance has increased more than 580 percent in the past ten years.
