SPRINGFIELD, Ore -- Lauren and Eric Christman gave birth to identical triplets on Friday, November 17th.

Experts say something like this only happens once every million births.

The babies are currently receiving NICU care. For anyone who would like to help the Christman family with their medical bills, please click here.

Piper, Olivia, and Sophia were born at 30 weeks. They each weigh one, two, and almost three pounds.

The new parents share how the ultrasound nurses originally told them they were having twins.

“We heard we had three and we thought, ‘Well, the one that we lost came back with a vengeance and brought two with them. And so that’s kind of what we were thinking,” said Eric.

The parents said their triplets were conceived naturally. Neither parent has a history of twins or triplets in their family.

They said the babies are doing very well and are hoping to take their newborns home in January.
