SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Some Springfield Public Schools students will start returning to hybrid learning next month.

In an email to families, the district said they plan to bring younger students back starting in February on a staggered schedule.

On Feb. 4, kindergarten through first grade will return. Then, on Feb. 8, second-grade students will return and third-graders will return Feb. 11.

The schedule is expected to be Monday through Friday except Wednesday.

Students in grades four through 12 will be incrementally phased in to hybrid learning.

The announcement comes as the Oregon Department of Education recently released updated guidance for school reopening.

Families should contact their building administrators if they have concerns about their child returning to in-person learning to explore other options.
