SPRINGFIELD, Ore. --Della Mae moved to Springfield the day Pearl Harbor was bombed in 1941 and has called it her true home ever since.
Della Mae has spent the majority of her life in Springfield. She's had jobs there. She had kids there Now she's celebrating her 100th birthday there.
"There used to be a moving company here called the mccraken brothers and she was a receptionist there for 35 years and she retired from that company," said Lisa Sutherland, Della Mae's granddaughter.
She moved to Oregon from Kansas shortly after the dust bowl and when asked her favorite part of oregon the out doors ranked high on her list.
Those closest to her say she has touched their lives in an unforgettable way.
"She adored me. She supported me through my childhood and continued on till I was having my children. She was there to guide me and she's just the best grandma anyone could ask for," said Sutherland.
Della Mae celebrated her birthday surrounded by her closest family and friends.
