St. Helens man dies in fatal I-5 crash

According to Oregon State Police the driver was found to have sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

EUGENE,Ore. – A man from St. Helens is dead after crashing on Interstate 5 near milepost 219 Tuesday morning.

According to Oregon State Police, the driver, 77-year-old Forrest Davisson, was found to have sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Davisson was driving a Honda Odyssey.

Oregon State Police said their investigation led them to believe Davisson was going northbound when he left the road, striking a guard rail and overturning.

Troopers responded to the crash at about 1:30 a.m., and they had help from ODOT, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and the Halsey Fire Department.
