LEBANON, Ore. -- An 18-year-old was arraigned Thursday on charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault.
Police said Wyatt Champ stabbed Christian Reynolds, 18, with a knife late Saturday night. It happened on the baseball field at Lebanon High School.
Reynolds suffered deep cuts to his torso and a puncture wound through his ribs that nicked his lung and kidney, police said.
Police said they responded to the 200 block of J Street at about 10:40 p.m. to a fight that was reported in the area. Officers said they found the knife that was used during the fight.
Champ was initially taken to Lebanon Community Hospital and then to OHSU in Portland for lacerations to his fingers. He was taken into custody on Monday.
Lebanon High School officials declined to comment on the incident.
