EUGENE, Ore. -- The suspect in a 2018 stabbing in Walton pleaded guilty in court on Tuesday to first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and stalking.
David Lucius is accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend Adrienne Wurts over a dozen times in October 2018.
At the time, Wurts said she went to the Walton Store one evening to meet Lucius so she could get the title of her car from him. She said when he went to give her a hug, he started stabbing her. Wurts said she fought back and her hands were injured when she held the blade of the knife. She had to get stitches.
Lucius was later arrested near the California border and previously faced a long list of charges, including attempted murder and several assault charges. He initially pleaded not guilty.
In the plea deal, Lucius could be looking at 15 years in prison for his crimes. His sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 27 at 8:30 a.m.
