EUGENE, Ore. -- Starbucks says it will close its troubled location at Broadway and Willamette Street.

The company says the store will close this fall "after careful consideration."

Some downtown customers said they believe the closure has something to do with the high crime in the area.

"It's disappointing there's not gonna be a Starbucks down here anymore," said Casey Allison, who works in downtown Eugene. "Even though there are local coffee businesses, the worse the homeless and transient problem gets, the less businesses that are going to be down here."

The Starbucks closure follows a recent stabbing and complaints of drug use in the bathroom.

All employees will transfer to other stores, the company said. They also said frequent customers of the downtown location should now visit the location at 495 West 7th Avenue, which is half a mile away.
