Officials seek four suspects in illegal taking of elk in Benton County

BENTON COUNTY, Ore. -- The Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division is seeking the public’s help to identify the people responsible for the illegal taking of an elk in Benton County in September.

Trail camera photographs show four hunters trespassing near Ferguson Road south of Monroe on Sept. 1, OSP said. They were packing a spike bull elk.

Anyone with information should contact Trooper Zac Cochran through the Turn in Poachers hotline at 1-800-452-7888 or 503-509-2465.

A reward is paid for information leading to the arrest and conviction of people for the illegal possession, killing, taking or waste of a deer, elk, antelope, bear, cougar, wolf, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, moose, game birds and more.
