EUGENE, Ore. -- After a foggy start in the Valleys on Wednesday, sunshine will arrive during the afternoon. Mostly sunny skies will allow temperatures to rise into the low to mid 60s.
Wednesday: AM fog/ sunny. Highs in mid to upper 60s
Thursday: AM fog/ sunny. Highs in mid to upper 60s
Friday: Sunny w/ some clouds late. Highs in mid to upper 60s
Saturday: Mostly sunny. Highs in upper 50s
Sunday: Sunny. Highs in upper 50s
Monday: Sunny. Highs in upper 50s
Tuesday: Sunny. Highs in upper 50s
Thursday will likely be the warmest day of the week, as offshore, downsloping flow increases. Increasing flow will help clear the skies and warm temperatures to at least the mid-60s. If strong enough, locations at the coast could even reach near 70 degrees.
While Thursday will be sunny and mild, the next front to watch will be fast approaching on Friday. Right now, the front is located near the Aleutian Islands. Models show the front passing through the Gulf of Alaska before moving to the Rocky Mountain states. With the front taking this path, moisture will be limited. Models show there could be very light precipitation in the northern coastal and Cascades communities.
High pressure will move in right behind the front, bringing sunshine for the weekend. Despite the sunshine, temperatures will be cooler with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s, as well as overnight temperatures near freezing. This pattern looks to hold into early next week.
