EUGENE, Ore. -- If you tried driving in downtown Eugene on Sunday you might have run into some road blocks.
For a few hours the streets were closed to cars and open to walkers, bikers and rollers during the ninth annual Eugene Sunday Streets event.
Thousands of people celebrated healthy, active living while playing in the City's largest public spaces – the streets.
Eugene’s transportation team hosts the event twice a year with the hopes of promoting an active lifestyle and reducing the dependence on cars.
Every year the team closes down the streets of different neighborhoods all over the city to help foster a feeling of community.
