EUGENE, Ore. -- Police are warning the public about a suspicious man who asked students if they needed a ride home. It happened within a half-mile of Arts & Technology Academy near Westmoreland Park.

Police said a concerned parent of a middle-schooler reported the incident Wednesday afternoon. The man was seen by Westmoreland Park on the east side of Bi-Mart in a grey station-wagon type vehicle. The child said no students accepted his offer.

The man was described as white, in his 20s or 30s, with short curly brown hair and no facial hair. He was last seen wearing an all-black sweatsuit.

Police are commending the child and parent for bringing the situation to the attention of police. If you have any information, call 541-682-5111.
