EUGENE, Ore. -- The Eugene Airport is holding a TSA PreCheck sign-up event from Tuesday, April 3, to Friday, April 13. Originally the event was welcome to both appointments and walk-ins, but officials said today that all 720 of the sign-up spots have been filled.
The enrollment center is located at the car rental counters on the southeast side of the terminal. They'll be open from 8 a.m to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on every sign-up day except for Sunday.

TSA PreCheck is a program where pre-approved fliers can pass quickly through an expedited security check.
"You can keep your shoes on, a light outerwear jacket, your belt, you can keep your laptop in your bag, and it just eases the whole process. You don't have to empty everything out, just your pockets," said Tina Burke, assistant federal security director at TSA.
Burke said that PreCheck is actually very beneficial for TSA. She said it allows the government to check passengers before they get in line, which streamlines the process.
You first have to sign up for TSA PreCheck online, which you can do here, and then you have to be approved in an in-person interview. Before this special event, the closest locations to the Eugene Airport to do these interviews were Portland and Roseburg.
Many people said they were excited about the convenience PreCheck brings to traveling, which can often feel very hectic.
"You know, because sometimes you're really struggling when you're at the airport, and the PreCheck really helps you get through it," said Alan Roth, a Eugene resident.
The event has been so popular that officials have already scheduled another one. If you missed out this time around you can get PreCheck approved at the Eugene Airport between April 23 and May 4.
