SALEM, Ore. -- Tens of thousands of teachers walked out on Wednesday, and supporters gathered at the Oregon Capitol to rally for education funding.

Teachers and supporters also rallied together in Eugene and Springfield on the Day of Action.

A bus left Sheldon High School this afternoon for the Capitol, and KEZI 9 News has a crew on scene.

Eugene student Riley Haney told KEZI the lack of funding has a real impact on students.

"We have multiple teachers that have to teach two grades 'cause there isn't enough staff," Haney said. "We don't get as much one-on-one support, and it's harder to grasp stuff."

Stay with KEZI 9 News for more on the rallies.
