BEND, Ore. (AP) - Police arrested a 16-year-old boy who they say made statements on a social medial platform about wanting to shoot students at Bend High School.

The Bulletin newspaper reports police learned of the threats Wednesday night and visited the boy's home that night. Bend police Lt. Clint Burleigh says officers found guns at the home, but the teen did not have access to them.

The boy was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation and then booked into a juvenile jail on a charge of disorderly conduct.

In an email to parents, Bend-La Pine Schools Superintendent Shay Mikalson said the district and Bend police have investigated four threats of school violence in nine days, but this was only report deemed credible.
