EUGENE, Ore. -- The George Bush 4141 locomotive made it's way through Eugene Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

A KEZI 9 News viewer sent a photo and video of the train, custom painted in the 41st president's honor, as it passed through Eugene.

The train was used in December 2018 to transport former President George H.W. Bush to his final resting place, the George Bush Presidential Library & Museum in College Station, Texas.

"The George Bush 4141 locomotive is traveling to various Union Pacific facilities around our network to give employees an opportunity to see it firsthand," Union Pacific wrote on their website. "It was our honor and privilege to participate in President Bush's final journey, and to provide an opportunity for Americans to participate in that experience. While there may be future public displays, none are planned at this time out of respect for the late president and his family."
