EUGENE, Ore -- Tuesday, April 24, 2018 is the deadline to register to vote for the May 15, 2018 Primary Election. This is also the deadline to change your party affiliation.
There are several registration options:
- Register online no later than 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, April 24. The online option is available to those with a valid Oregon driver's license, DMV-issued identification card or learner's permit.
- Submit a voter registration form to the Elections Office by 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24.
- Mail a voter registration card to the Elections Office postmarked no later than Tuesday, April 24.
The Lincoln Street ballot drop box at Lane County Elections will be open now through Tuesday, April 24, at 5:00 p.m. to make it easier for voters to drop off completed registration cards.
New voters who will turn 18 on or before the May 15 Election Day may register by the April 24 deadline and receive a ballot, even if they are still 17 on the deadline date.
Primary elections are held so the members of a party can choose the party's candidates for office. Only registered Democrats, Republicans, and Independents can vote to nominate candidates for their respective political parties. Other registered voters will receive a ballot with nonpartisan offices only.

Lane County Elections is located at 275 W. 10th Avenue, on the corner of 10th and Lincoln in downtown Eugene. Public office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. On Election Day, May 15, 2018, the Lane County Elections Office will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
