CRESWELL, Ore. -- People from all over Oregon made their way to the small town of Creswell to attend the city’s annual Fourth of July Parade.

Joe Raade, fire chief for South Lane County, said the town usually has a population of nearly 6,000 people, but during their annual Fourth of July Parade that number jumps to nearly 30,000 people.

There were more than 100 entries in the parade that included school bands, fire trucks and other spectacles.

KEZI spoke to paradegoer Robert Sams who said there is no place he would rather be to celebrate Independence Day.

"This parade is awesome. We've been coming down here for several years to watch it,” Sams said. “I think that it's awesome that they would put it on for the kids especially and the older people who come down for the Fourth of July."

During the celebration paradegoers also had the opportunity to see a flyover from the Oregon Air National Guard.

Organizers said they appreciate everyone that made it on Wednesday and plan on hosting the parade again next year.
