Threat at South Umpqua High School likely not credible, deputies say

There will be an increased presence of law enforcement on the school’s campus as they investigate.

TRI CITY, Ore. -- Deputies responded to a report of a threat against South Umpqua High School Tuesday.

Deputies are currently conducting a criminal investigation in response to the threat, which was referenced in vandalism. The sheriff’s office said they feel there is no credible threat at this time.

There will be an increased presence of law enforcement on the school’s campus as they investigate.
