Threat causes lockdown in Winston-Dillard School District

School administrators say the threat was found on a restroom wall.

WINSTON, Ore. – A threat found on a bathroom wall forced schools into lockdown in the Winston-Dillard School District on Tuesday morning.

Schools were to remain in a modified lockout for the remainder of the school day. All school sponsored and after school activities have been cancelled for the rest of the day.

A school district spokesperson said Winston Police discovered a hand written threat of a school shooting and bombing on a restroom wall at a community park.

School district administrators implemented a District Crisis Management Plan which led to a an increased police presence at schools throughout the district. Backpacks, packages and people were subject to searches.

The district spokesperson said anyone with information about the threat is asked to contact the Winston-Dillard School District Security compliance office at 541-679-3000, extension 3412, or the Winston Police Department at 541-679-8706.
