Troopers search for bald eagle killer in Douglas County

Oregon State Police is offering a reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.

RIDDLE, Ore. – Oregon State Police are trying to find the person responsible for shooting and killing a bald eagle in Douglas County.

Troopers said the eagle was shot on Nov. 16 on Lower Cow Creek Road, about two miles south of Doe Creek Road and west of Riddle.

They said the person left the eagle there after shooting it in the neck with a small caliber rifle.

Troopers said the suspect was driving a newer red or maroon compact four-door truck, likely a Nissan Frontier.

Oregon State Police is offering a reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
