Trump approves major disaster declaration for Oregon

The aid will supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- President Donald Trump has approved a major disaster declaration for Oregon due to the coronavirus outbreak.

In a press release Sunday morning, the Federal Emergency Management Agency announced the president had made federal emergency aid available for the state.

The aid will supplement state, tribes' and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Oregon is now the 18th state with a disaster declaration due to the coronavirus.
