Two face theft charges after being arrested at Valley River Center

Two people are arrested in the parking lot of the Valley River Center on Saturday. Police said the man was shoplifting while the woman was wanted for theft in Springfield.

EUGENE, Ore. -- Two people were arrested on theft charges on Saturday.

Officers were called out to Valley River Center after reports of a man shoplifting at the Macy's store.

Travis Anthony Germyn, 40, was seen stealing a large amount of merchandise. They said he had a dark wig and a hat on.

They said when officers tried to contact him, he ran towards the parking lot but officers caught up with him as he tried to start his car.

Germyn was arrested and charged with theft in the second degree, theft in the first degree, interfering with a police officer and warrants on a related case.

While police were making the arrest, Corinna Ivy Loudon showed up at the vehicle, claiming that she owned it.

Officers discovered that Loudon, 36, was wanted for theft out of Springfield. Officers with the Springfield Police Department were called out and arrested her.
