EUGENE, Ore -- A property auction held by Lane County resulted in the sale of two properties on Thursday.

A total of ten properties were up for auction. Lane County Property Manager Jeff Turk said all of them came to be owned by the county after their previous owners failed to pay their property taxes, and they went into foreclosure.

Turk said a home in Springfield on 66th Street sold for $95,000, while a small undeveloped lot in Glenada south of Florence sold for $1,000.

"A lot of times, the properties need, especially the houses, are not quite move-in ready," Turk said. "They need to get some work in to get them habitable."

Tursk said the county will not work with buyers directly to sell the remaining properties.
