Two recent wildfires near Winston deemed suspicious

Officials said that two fires that occurred northwest of Winston on Thursday and Friday are suspicious and may be related.

WINSTON, Ore.-- Officials said that two fires that occurred northwest of Winston on Thursday and Friday are suspicious and may be related.

According to the Douglas Forest Protective Association, the first fire ignited alongside Lookingglass Road on Thursday and burned a half-acre of wildland fuels. The second fire started nearby on Friday and burned a quarter acre of grass.

Officials said that DFPA is working with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Oregon State Police to identify the responsible party.
