Two teens accused of vandalizing Albany church

Police said a 13-year-old boy and 15-year-old boy, both from Albany, were captured on surveillance video, which led to the arrests on Tuesday.

ALBANY, Ore. -- Two teenagers have been arrested after Albany police said they broke into the New Hope Church in Albany on Saturday.

Police said the 13-year old and 15-year-old boys, both from Albany, were captured on surveillance video, which led to the arrests on Tuesday.

They said the suspects went through the church with baseball bats, damaging walls, fixtures, furniture and electronics.

The current damage estimates are reported to be as much as $200,000.

There is no indication of this being a hate crime, police said.

Suspect names are not being released at this time.
