ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Monday marks three years since the mass shooting inside Snyder Hall at Umpqua Community College -- a tragedy that took the lives of eight students and one teacher.
The flag will fly at half-staff on campus as UCC holds a day of remembrance event.

Starting at 10 a.m. Monday, a private event for UCC staff and students, affected family members and the law enforcement community will take place on the UCC campus grounds. They also plan to hold a moment of silence at 10:38 a.m., marking the time shots were fired three years ago.
During the memorial ceremony this morning, people will have the opportunity to listen to bagpipes and see a memorial that’s on display at the Welcome Center on campus. Flowers and pictures with names of all the victims will be on display there.
A separate gathering around the campus flag pole will be open to the entire Roseburg community from sunrise to sunset.
