EUGENE, Ore. – Graduates at the University of Oregon may not be able to walk this summer, but officials say they’ve found new ways to celebrate their accomplishments.

In an email sent to eligible graduates on Friday, university officials said they’ll be offering two opportunities for the Class of 2020.

On June 20, there will be a virtual ceremony which will include a live webcast and a pre-recorded segment recognizing each graduate. Students will be able to personalize theirs with a photo, message and short video.

Individual schools and college may host their own live-streamed events.

Eligible students who register will also receive a celebration box that university officials say will be “full of surprises.”

Then, in June 2021, the Class of 2020 will be invited to join the in-person commencement celebration.
