EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon community has seen 57 coronavirus cases in four days alone, according to the university’s website.
All of the cases involve students, but only one of the students lives in the residence halls, officials said. The rest live off campus.
The surge in cases comes at the beginning of the school year.
On Oct. 4, eight students tested positive, and another eight were determined to be positive the day before that.
A total of 32 students tested positive on Oct. 2. The remaining nine cases were reported on Oct. 1.
