UPDATE: Winston Police to bring on police dog

The Winston Police Department has announced that they have raised enough money to purchase a K-9 unit, including a new police vehicle.

WINSTON, Ore. -- Winston residents can expect to see a new police car soon with a K-9 companion inside.

The Winston Police Department has announced that thanks to community fundraisers, they've raised enough money to get a police dog.

RELATED: CHANGES COMING TO WINSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT AFTER CHIEF RETIRES

They'll be getting a new patrol car and a dog named Buster.

On top of that, they raised over $27,000 at their K-9 fundraiser in November.

Winston Police will be putting their new police dog to work soon, and the police car is going to Salem on Thursday to have all the bells and whistles put on it.
