ROSEBURG, Ore. -- One of two warming centers in Roseburg will be closed this winter.

The Umpqua Valley Warming Center at the Faith Lutheran Church in Roseburg has been forced to close its doors this year.

Officials said a manager vacancy and lack of volunteers has forced them to make this decision.

That leaves the Dream Center -- Warming Center at Foundation Fellowship in downtown Roseburg as the only warming center.

Chris Hutton, a worker at Dream Center, said they’ll be needing all the help they can get.

“It takes about 18 people to run a 12-hour day,” Hutton said. “We’ve got people that come in for security, we have people that come in for cooking, we have people for greeters and to help with the clothing -- to go through the bedding.”

For information on how to donate or volunteer, you can contact the Dream Center -- Warming Center through their Facebook page.
