EUGENE, Ore. -- The number of unemployment claims in Oregon has jumped drastically.

The number of claims was about 800 on Sunday, and on Tuesday, that number grew to 18,500, according to the Oregon Employment Department.

Unemployment insurance benefits are available to those affected by a reduction in economic activity tied to the spread of coronavirus. For more information, click here.
