Plans set for vacant lot across from Lane County public service building

After the two-year parking contract expires, construction is expected to begin on the new Lane County Courthouse.

EUGENE, Ore. -- A new curfew and parking lot contract has been approved for the empty lot on Pearl Street in downtown Eugene near the Public Service Building.

Under the new curfew, no one will be allowed on the vacant lot before 6 a.m. and after 11 p.m. County officials want to make the hours consistent with other parks in downtown. The curfew will still apply when the temporary parking lot opens on that lot.

The parking lot will function under Rollpark. It will have 285 spaces for downtown employees and hourly spaces for visitors. The contract will Rollpark is set for two years. After the two-year contract expires, construction is expected to begin on the new Lane County Courthouse.
