EUGENE, Ore. -- Health officials in Lane County announced on Tuesday a major new weapon in the war against COVID-19.

Beginning next week, at least one mass vaccination clinic will be open every day of the week with no appointment necessary.

Community members can begin walking up this Thursday to receive their shot, and they can expect to be in and out in about 30 minutes. Scheduling your vaccination appointment ahead of time will remain an option. Details on the location of the clinics will be made available HERE.

The goal is to provide easier access to the vaccine for those who have challenging schedules, those with children or anyone with limited time.

“We are always trying to improve our processing and trying to make sure we are making the vaccine as easy to get as possible,” said Lane County Public Health spokesman Jason Davis.

Davis said the county will be receiving more than enough doses to run the clinics.
