SPRINGFIELD, Ore. --- A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Main Street in Springfield Friday night, according to police.
The Springfield Police Department reports that Zacory Hooks was walking westbound on the 7500 block of Main Street when he was struck by a vehicle.

The vehicle did not stop and Hooks died from his injuries, officials said.
KEZI 9 News spoke with a neighbor who watched the crash happen. A neighbor named Dave said he looked outside his window and saw a young man wearing all black walking down the road on his phone.
Dave said he saw a four door Sedan hit Hooks from behind. He said a second vehicle behind the Sedan swerved out of the way and a third car hit Hooks with both tires.
Dave told KEZI 9 News this is not his first time seeing a pedestrian hit by a car on Main Street.
"You know that sound will stick with you. Just to see it again it is sad because he was a young kid," Dave said.
Dave said this is another good reminder that things can change at any moment and that nothing is guaranteed.
"He was probably thinking about what he was going to do when he got home, what he is going to do tomorrow and weekend plans and that is it," Dave said.
The Springfield Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the crash and searching for the vehicle that struck Hooks.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Officer Tony Del Castillo at 541-726-3714.
