EUGENE, Ore. -- Oregon running back CJ Verdell returned to practice after suffering a sprained ankle in Saturday's game against Cal, according to head coach Mario Cristobal.

The sophomore is expected to be able to play Friday against Colorado.

Verdell sustained the injury late in the first quarter on Saturday causing him to be sidelined for the remainder of the game.

Meanwhile, senior defensive end Gus Cumberlander will miss the rest of season after leaving Saturday's game with a knee injury.

Freshman Kayvon Thibodeaux is one of the starters listed on the depth chart to replace Cumberlander. Thibodeaux was named Pac-12 Defensive Lineman of the Week after recording two sacks and a forced fumble against Cal. He also had a season-high three tackles.

Oregon hosts Colorado at 7 p.m. on Friday at Autzen Stadium.
