EUGENE, Ore. – Douglas County and Albany are both gearing up to honor veterans with a parade on Monday.
In Roseburg, the annual Douglas County Veterans Day Parade will kick off at 11 a.m. downtown. Organizers said they hold the parade every year on Veterans Day.
This year’s grand marshals will be members of military families with the theme being “Celebrating Multi-Generational Military Families.”
Organizers said the parade will start at the corner of NE Fowler Street and NE Diamond Lake Boulevard before turning left onto NE Jackson Street, which becomes SE Jackson Street. The parade will then turn left onto SE Lane Street and take a left onto SE Main Street. Participants will take a right onto SE Douglas Avenue, and the parade will end in front of the Douglas County Courthouse.
Meanwhile, Albany’s parade will kick off at 11 a.m. in the city’s historic downtown. Organizers there said it’s Albany’s 68th annual parade.
After Albany’s parade, a Veterans Day Parade Awards Ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. on the steps of the Linn County Courthouse.
