Veterans home reports new coronavirus-related death

OHA reports 33 new confirmed cases.

SALEM, Ore. – Oregon Health Authority reported 33 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Tuesday.

With eight new presumptive cases, the state total is at 3,726.

The new cases include one in Curry, six in Deschutes, one in Jackson, 12 in Marion, nine in Multnomah, three in Umatilla, six in Washington, and three in Yamhill.

OHA also reported two more deaths, bringing the death toll to 140. OHA said they both had underlying health conditions.

A 70-year-old Umatilla County woman died on May 16, and a 69-year-old Linn County man died on May 17.

The Oregon Veterans’ Home in Lebanon said the man was the eighth resident to die as a result of coronavirus at their facility since the start of the pandemic.
