EUGENE, Ore. -- Some had the option not to come into work these past few days, but volunteers at Greenhill Humane Society say that shelter animals don't get a break.

Volunteers made it their mission to make sure that all the animals were getting the care they need even with the snow.

David Klymman has been volunteering at the shelter for years and he says he hopes to be hired. A veteran and PTSD victim, Klymman said the animals help him just as much as he helps them.

A representative from the shelter told KEZI 9 News they are now running on a normal schedule. She also wanted to remind people that in these cold temperatures, it is important to bring your pets inside.
