EUGENE, Ore. – Some businesses are teaming up this weekend to make Eugene greener and healthier, and they need volunteers.

Hummingbird Wholesale and Mountain Rose Herbs, along with Friends of Trees, are putting on a tree planting event on Saturday.

Volunteers will meet at the Hummingbird Wholesale parking lot and head out into neighborhoods in groups.

They’ll provide the coffee and breakfast treats to get volunteers fueled up, as well as gloves and tools. PeaceHealth Rides will provide bikes.

Hummingbird Wholesale workers said they’re committed to environmental stewardship.

Trees provide countless environmental benefits, clean out our air and protect against soil erosion.

It starts Saturday at 8:45 a.m. at 150 Shelton McMurphey Boulevard.
