DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- A volunteer group in Douglas County needs help building dozens of beds for kids before Christmas.
The group posted pictures to the Facebook page of the Umpqua Valley chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
So far this year, Sleep in Heavenly Peace has delivered more than 200 beds to kids in Douglas and Coos counties. There are about 65 more children on the waiting list.
If you think you have what it takes to volunteer, the requirements include filling out a release form and being over the age of 12.
Volunteers learn how to use various construction tools including saws and drills. They also learn how to sand and stain wood.
