SALEM, Ore. -- Gov. Kate Brown has tightened restrictions in hopes of curbing the spread of COVID-19 as the pandemic continues.

Face covering requirements have been expanded, requiring children 5 and older to wear masks. Previous exemptions are being removed such as gyms.

Restrictions on gatherings have also been tightened, limiting places of worship, gyms, restaurants and more to 100 people.

Bars and restaurants will also need to close by 10 p.m.

These changes are effective July 24.

Brown said further guidance on schools will be released in the coming days. And the current county watch list will be updated.
