EUGENE, Ore. -- A multiple-vehicle crash Tuesday morning may have been caused by the weather, according to the mother of one of the drivers.
The crash happened at about 8:45 a.m. on West 18th Avenue near Polk Street.

No one was reported injured, but significant damage could be seen to the rear of at least one vehicle involved in the crash.
When KEZI 9 News arrived on scene, two vehicles were still at the scene, including an SUV that was at the very back of the four-vehicle crash.
The mother of that driver said her son hydroplaned on the road, leading to the crash. That happens when tires slide on a water-covered surface. She said the crash happened while it was raining heavily.
A Eugene police officer was on scene to help redirect traffic while crews cleaned up the crash scene. The officer said they were not investigating the crash.
